Welcome to my blog, "Not Too Shabby"! My name is Shabrina Parikh, and I am so happy you are here!
You may be thinking why my blog is named "Not Too Shabby". If you weren't, you are now!
First, almost everyone close to me calls me some variation of "Shab". I rarely get called by my actual name. I've gotten everything from Shab, Shabby, Sha-Sha, Shubs, you name it! I've grown to adore my nicknames over the years. They are short and sweet, just like me!
On a deeper level, however, according to Merriam-Webster, the phrase "not too shabby" means "not too bad". Those that have met me know that I am nowhere near perfect, no matter how much I try to insist them otherwise. I make mistakes, I'm clumsy, I speak loudly, and I can be quite weird. Throughout my life, I've struggled to accept these things about myself.
It's definitely been a journey, but it's a journey I want to share. I want to use this blog to share my experiences in hopes it helps someone. Starting this blog is one of the steps I am taking to finally embrace who I really am. I may not be perfect, but I'm not too shabby.
